21 Baby Scrapbook Ideas That Will Make You Swoon and Cherish Every Moment!

Baby Scrapbook ideas are one of the most important things to have when you have a baby. I mean, what else will you be doing with all of those photos?

I don’t know about you, but I have a phone full of photos of my kids and I never do anything with them! I’ve been wanting to make a photo book for years, but I just never seem to get around to it.

Well, I’ve decided that it’s time to start! I’m going to make a baby scrapbook for my 2 year old and my 4 month old.

I’ve been doing some research and I’ve found some really cute baby scrapbook ideas that I wanted to share with you!

Create a First Year Milestone Timeline

One way to make sure you capture all of the important moments of your baby’s first year is to create a timeline at the beginning of your scrapbook. This will give you a good idea of how many pages you’ll need to fill and what milestones you want to cover.

I love how this timeline is broken up into months, and the little notes about what your baby is probably doing at this age are so helpful for a first-time mom!

Design a Monthly Photo Progress Page

The first year of your baby’s life will be filled with so many changes. It’s hard to keep up! That’s why we love the idea of creating a monthly photo progress page in your baby scrapbook.

You can use the same layout for each month and make a note of your baby’s favorite things, firsts, and any other milestones they hit.

Add a Handprint and Footprint Keepsake Spread

I mean, who can resist those little baby hands and feet? Capture their prints and add them to a keepsake spread in your scrapbook. You can also add a photo of the baby’s hands and feet next to the prints. If you want to keep things simple, just add the prints and a few embellishments.

If you want to get a little more creative, you can add a photo of the baby and some journaling about how small their hands and feet are. You can also add some fun embellishments like flowers or stars.

Include a “Welcome to the World” Birth Details Page

Create a page that celebrates the birth of your baby. Include the date, time, and place of birth, as well as your baby’s height and weight. You can also add the meaning of your baby’s name and a little bit about your labor and delivery experience.

I love that my mom included the story of my name on my birth details page. It’s such a sweet way to add a little more about your baby’s personality and who they are.

Make a Family Tree Introduction Layout

One great way to start off your baby’s scrapbook is with a family tree introduction layout. This will give your baby a visual representation of who their family is, and it’s a great way to show off some of those adorable baby pictures of their parents and grandparents!

You can make this layout as simple or as extravagant as you’d like. You can draw out a tree with leaves and even add a photo of your baby in a little frame to make it look like the tree is growing with your baby’s arrival.

Add a Pocket Page for Hospital Bracelets and Tags

One of the first things you’ll get in the hospital is a bracelet for your new baby. These are so special and a great way to start your scrapbook.

You can also add any tags you get from the hospital. This is a great way to add a pocket page to your scrapbook.

Create a “Firsts” Memory Section (First Smile & First Steps)

In the beginning, you may not have much to scrapbook about, but as your baby grows, you’ll have more and more milestones to capture and remember.

The first two milestones I always like to include in my baby scrapbooks are the first smile and the first steps. These are two of the most meaningful to me, but you can choose any “firsts” that are most important to you and your family.

Design a Cute Nursery Theme-Inspired Spread

Your little one’s nursery is a special space that you’ve put a lot of thought into. So, why not take some of those details and incorporate them into a scrapbook layout? You can use the colors, patterns, and even the decor itself as inspiration for your page.

For this layout, I took inspiration from the woodland theme in my daughter’s nursery. I used wood grain patterned paper, subtle forest elements, and a little deer cut out to tie it all together.

Add Letters to Baby from Mom and Dad

When you’re a new parent, you have so many things you want to say to your baby. You can use a simple letter format to write a note to your baby in your scrapbook.

What a precious thing to be able to look back on! You can write as many letters as you want to your baby throughout the years, but this is a wonderful way to start.

Include Ultrasound Photos with Special Notes

Before your baby is born, you will have the opportunity to see them during an ultrasound. These photos are so special and are the perfect place to start your baby scrapbook.

Add the ultrasound photos to a page in your album and write a special note to your baby. This is a great way to introduce them to the world and share your feelings about their arrival.

Make a Growth Chart Tracking Page

The best part of a baby scrapbook is tracking the baby’s growth. And what better way to do that than with a growth chart tracking page?

This page is super simple but so meaningful. You can use the baby’s actual growth chart from the doctor’s office or create your own. Include things like the baby’s weight, length, and head circumference. You can even include a picture of the baby from the doctor’s office!

Add a Baby Shower Memories Section

Baby showers are such special events, and they are a great way to kick off your baby scrapbook! You can include all sorts of memories from the shower, like the invitation, guest list, games, and of course, photos of the mama-to-be.

If you’re the one having the baby, you can include photos of your baby bump, your gender reveal, and any other special events leading up to the baby’s arrival.

Create a Favorite Things Snapshot Page

It’s amazing how much your baby will grow and change in the first year of their life. Every month, take a snapshot of your baby with some of their favorite things to create a fun and unique scrapbook page. You can also add a little note about what your baby is loving at the time to remember it in the future.

You can create a page for each month or start a new page for each quarter. Don’t forget to take a snapshot of your baby’s favorite things at the end of the year to see how much they’ve changed in just 12 months!

Include a Page for Funny Moments and Quotes

Babies are a lot of work, but they sure do keep us entertained! Include a page in your baby scrapbook that highlights some of the funny moments and quotes you’ve collected along the way. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did.

This is one of my favorite pages in my daughter’s baby scrapbook, and I love looking back on the funny things she did and said as a baby.

Design a Holiday Memories Spread

While baby may not be able to remember their first Christmas, you can bet that you will! Design a holiday memories spread in your baby’s scrapbook that includes a picture of them with Santa, the tree, or any other holiday traditions your family has.

This is a great way to show baby how you celebrated the holidays when they were too young to remember.

Add a Mini Envelope for Tiny Keepsakes

Mini envelopes, like this one from Ali Edwards, are perfect for tucking away tiny keepsakes. This mama added her son’s hospital bracelet, a pacifier clip, and a few other trinkets from his first few days of life.

You can even make your own mini envelopes using patterned paper and a scoring board.

Create a “Baby’s First Birthday” Celebration Page

Your baby’s first birthday is a major milestone, and you’ll want to document it in your baby scrapbook. You can create a whole spread dedicated to your baby’s first birthday celebration, or you can include a few photos and a journaling card on a single page.

If you have a lot of photos from the party, you can create a photo collage to include them all. If you’re short on space, you can use a pocket page to include multiple photos.

Include a Page for Friends and Playdates

Once your baby gets a little older, you’ll want to include a few pages of their friends and playdates. You can include pictures of your baby with their friends, or you can include pictures of your baby and their friends’ moms. This is a great way to show how your baby is developing socially.

Add a Day-in-the-Life Photo Collage

What does a typical day look like in your baby’s world? Create a photo collage of your baby’s regular routine. This is a great way to show off all of the cute expressions your baby makes throughout the day. Plus, it’s an easy way to fill up a page without having to worry about journaling.

Make a Dream and Wishes Page for the Future

This is such a sweet idea! You can make a page (or two!) for your baby to look back on when they’re older. You can write out your wishes for your baby, what you hope they accomplish, and anything else you want to say. You can also have friends and family members write out their wishes and dreams for your little one.

Finish with a Sweet “Year One” Reflection Layout

This is a great way to end your baby’s first year scrapbook! On this layout, you can include a few of your favorite photos from the year and then journal about your thoughts and feelings.

You can also include your baby’s likes and dislikes, first words, and any other fun milestones. Use the Baby Milestones Paper Pack to add some colorful and cute embellishments to your layout!

Conclusion

There are so many baby scrapbook ideas to choose from, you might have a hard time narrowing it down to just one! You’re only limited by your imagination, so have fun creating a keepsake that you and your child will treasure for a lifetime.
